What you will bring to the Bella Vou team

• Relevant clinical experience in theatre, anaesthesia, recovery, or ward settings (cosmetic/aesthetic surgery experience is a bonus).

• Strong clinical knowledge, critical thinking, and ability to make autonomous decisions within the scope of practice.

Anaesthetists:

• Experienced consultant-grade anaesthesiologist conducting pre-operative assessments and delivering safe anaesthesia care via TIVA.

• Work closely with surgical teams and nursing staff in theatre

• Monitor patient vital signs throughout procedures and ensure smooth recovery

• Provide expert guidance on pain management and post-op care

• Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical documentation

• Participate in clinical governance, audit and quality improvement initiatives

• Support and contribute to the training and development of nursing and junior medical staff.


Operating Room (Scrub) Theatre Nurses:

• Prepare the operating theatre, equipment, and sterile instruments for scheduled procedures. • Ensure the correct patient, procedure, and site in line with the WHO Surgical Safety Checklist.

• Scrub and assist surgeons during operations, anticipating instruments and equipment needs. • Maintain aseptic technique and sterile field throughout procedures.

• Handle surgical instruments, sutures, and implants safely and efficiently.

• Support patient positioning, comfort, and safety during procedures.

• Collaborate with anaesthetists and recovery staff to monitor patient condition.

• Maintain accurate documentation of surgical procedures, instruments, and patient care.

• Communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary theatre team to ensure smooth workflow.

• Assist with post-operative patient transfer to recovery and theatre clean-up.

• Participate in instrument counts, stock management, and equipment sterilisation.

• Follow infection control policies and hospital protocols at all times.

• Engage in professional development, clinical training, and quality improvement initiatives.

• Adhere to NMC standards, hospital policies, and national best practices.


Anaesthetic / Advanced Airway Trained Nurse:

• Prepare anaesthetic equipment, medications, and monitoring devices before procedures.

• Assist anaesthetists during induction, maintenance, and emergence from anaesthesia.

• Monitor and maintain patient airway, vital signs, and physiological parameters throughout procedures.

• Administer anaesthetic medications under the direction of the anaesthetist, according to protocols.

• Anticipate anaesthetic and surgical needs and provide timely support to the team.

• Ensure patient safety during positioning, intubation, and ventilation procedures.

• Maintain accurate anaesthetic records, including drug administration, airway management, and patient response.

• Apply infection control and sterile techniques in all aspects of anaesthetic care.

• Assist with post-anaesthesia care, ensuring a smooth transition to recovery, and monitor in recovery areas.

• Participate in pre-assessment and post-operative follow-up when required.

• Support audit, risk management, and quality improvement initiatives related to anaesthesia practice.

• Engage in continuing professional development to maintain and enhance advanced airway and anaesthetic skills.


Recovery & Ward Nurse:

• Provide high-quality, patient-centred nursing care across post-operative recovery and inpatient settings.

• Monitor and record patient condition, including vital signs, pain levels, fluid balance, and overall recovery progress.

• Manage airway support, oxygen therapy, and basic life support when required.

• Administer medications and treatments safely, following care plans and protocols.

• Support patients with personal care, mobility, nutrition, and comfort as needed.

• Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anaesthetists, and the multidisciplinary team to plan and evaluate care.

• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and handover records.

• Apply infection control, health and safety, and safe patient handling practices at all times.

• Respond promptly to clinical changes, patient needs, or emergencies.

• Assist with discharge planning, patient education, and follow-up care.

• Participate in clinical audits, incident reporting, risk management, and quality improvement initiatives


Theatre Manager:

• Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the operating theatres, ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality surgical services.

• Supervise and support theatre staff, including scrub nurses, anaesthetic nurses, recovery nurses, and support staff, fostering a positive, professional working environment.

• Run daily safety briefings with theatre teams to ensure effective communication.

• Ensure all theatre activity complies with hospital policies, clinical governance standards, infection control protocols, and CQC regulations.

• Coordinate theatre schedules, allocating staff and resources effectively to maximise theatre utilisation and minimise delays.

• Monitor theatre performance, including audit of theatre metrics, patient flow, and safety outcomes, and implement improvements where needed.

• Oversee the maintenance, stock, and inventory of instruments and consumables, ensuring they are fit for use.

• Lead on risk management, incident reporting, and investigation, promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

• Support training, mentorship, and professional development of theatre staff, ensuring competencies are maintained and updated.

• Work closely with surgical teams, anaesthetists, and nursing leadership to coordinate complex cases and optimise patient outcomes.

• Act as a point of escalation for operational or clinical concerns in theatres.

• Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and performance records in line with hospital policies
